Cast Resin Dry-Type Transformer
A Dry Type Transformer, also known as an air-cooled transformer, utilizes air or gas instead of liquid for insulation and cooling. This design does not immerse its core and windings in insulating oil.
Cast Resin Dry-Type Transformer (CRT): Uses epoxy resin to encapsulate windings, protecting them from moisture, dust, and corrosion. Ideal for high humidity, indoor installations, and fire-risk areas due to its non-inflammable and maintenance-free nature.
Vacuum Pressure Impregnated Transformer (VPI): Impregnates windings with class H polyester resin under vacuum, eliminating air gaps. This enhances mechanical strength and thermal stability, making it suitable for outdoor installations and seismic events.
