Dry Type Transformer, also known as an air-cooled transformer, utilizes air or gas instead of liquid for insulation and cooling. This design does not immerse its core and windings in insulating oil, distinguishing it from oil-filled transformers.
Cast Resin Dry-Type Transformers (CRT): Uses epoxy resin to encapsulate windings, protecting them from moisture, dust, and corrosion. Ideal for high humidity, indoor, and fire-risk areas due to its non-hygroscopic and maintenance-free nature.
Vacuum Pressure Impregnated Transformer (VPI): Impregnates windings with class H polyester resin under vacuum, eliminating air gaps. Enhances mechanical strength and thermal stability, suitable for outdoor installations and seismic events.
